HitsLink offers a variety of Enterprise levels ranging from 1,000 to 10 million page views per month. We looked at the $44.95 package that supports up to 50,000 page views per month. If you need to monitor multiple websites, HitsLink may be a good fit because they only charge $1/month per additional website and invoice based on the total page views of all sites combined.
This service tracks page, visitor and technology statistics and some conversion and referrer stats. They offer additional useful features like the ability to export to numerous file types and email alerts.
HitsLink is equipped to track referrer domains, keywords and campaigns and you can drill down into reports for detailed information. It does not compute ROI but does watch for potential click fraud activity.
Unfortunately, we could not get referrer URLs to display in the demo and this service does not appear to offer reports in non–English languages.
HitsLink tracks campaign referrals and transactions but does not compute campaign ROI. It compares transactions to search engines, search terms, referrer, country, continent and entry page.
Unlike many services, with HitsLink you can set up click fraud alerts. You can tag specific IP addresses and when they reach a set click limit the service will contact you by email. It also has click fraud reports that relate suspicious activity such as a high number of clicks in a short period of time or with few page views.
This service provides above average visitor and technology data and does a fairly good job of relating page statistics.
In terms of visitors, this service reports just about everything you might find useful, including geographical location, language, ISP, IP and relates whether they are a new or returning visitor. When you are looking at the visitor reports, you can click on “details” and a second window pops up that relates more information such as which browser and operating system they use as well at their screen resolution, search terms, JavaScript version and more.
Their page statistics report relates entry and exit pages as well as total page views and time spent per page. It also provides popular navigational paths with analysis.
HitsLink reports can be exported to more programs than any other service we looked at, so reports can be easily shared and archived. The reports provided from HitsLink can be exported to Adobe PDF, Word, Excel, Rich Text Format, Comma Separated, Tab Delimited, Macintosh Word and WordPerfect.
Most reports can be defined by the day, week, month, quarter or custom time period and they provide tools for managing multiple accounts. As mentioned above, this service may be a good choice if you need to manage multiple sites because additional sites are only $1/month and you then just pay for the total page views combined. This pricing schedule means that you could manage 10 sites with a total of 1 million page views per month for $384/month for the Enterprise version or only $250/month for the Pro version. Most services require a higher per month rate for additional sites, usually a percent off the total package, so $1 per month is a great deal.
HitsLink provides embedded support and FAQs or you can send them an email form if you have a unique question. Disappointingly, they do not provide telephone support and do not host a user forum.
HitsLink provides easily exportable reports and detailed visitor information, they also offer affordable options for managing multiple sites.
Please Note: We did not actually install tracking code into our HTML pages from this service. Review is based on available information, demos and experiences with customer service.
